Picture a Day - Day 174

It's always a touch terrifying to get into something that is so subjective anyone feels compelled to wander off the street and tell you just what they think of what you put hours into (must be what pregnant women feel like all the time).

So I've steeled myself for a critic to appear and tell me that all my paintings are garbage and deserve to be ripped up into a million little pieces. Though I never expected my first real critic to have an abundance of white and gray fur, a collar, and four legs.
If that painting looks a bit familiar it's because that was the third one I ever painted and belongs to one Rachel of Girl Learning Along the Way. She came home to a typical dog owners sight. Her puppies all huddled around some beloved object, shreds and pieces strewn about the floor.

I admit that I broke out into a fit of giggles upon seeing the pictures. There's just something so hilarious about the evidence right there and the culprit staring up at you probably wondering when he's gonna get some food.

Once I stopped chuckling I set about trying to remake a painting. I wanted to really recapture what I did the first time because I wound up really liking her dress, which is pretty obvious as I use it all over the place (though in honor of the little accident I have changed the picture up top for a day).

I was a bit worried at first as I did this one almost 4 month ago (have I really been doing this that long?) but I found that it was much easier to copy this time around as opposed to the first time when I just tried to capture the dress in painting form.

I think I did a pretty good job, though she did get a bit of an upgrade on something a bit larger and hopefully a bit more durable to doggie fangs. And because I thought it was just so damn funny, I had to paint the destruction of its predecessor.
While my paintings may not have a warranty against fire, lightning, flood or earthquake I may -- if you include adorable picture -- cover acts of doG.

Speaking of paintings and etsy, after failed attempt after failed attempt over the long weekend I finally managed to make myself a treasury list late last night. It was kinda fun actually and I'd be very grateful if you'd just check it out or if you have an account to leave a little comment.

I called it Blue Bird of Happiness. And now that I've figured out the ins and outs a bit better I should try to make some more, so if anyone has any suggestions or favorites I'd love to hear them.

He looks "guilty as charged"! What a great painting he makes though! :)

Perhaps he thought it looked so tasty he had to eat it.
Good to know about your warranty policy :)

LOL!!
I'm glad you were able to giggle about it!!! I don't know if you can tell from the pic, but that cardboard?? That's what's behind the actual canvas part. They peeled the part you painted on off the backing.

I love the "new" copy of my dress - and it will be put somewhere beyond the puppies reaches! Because even though it's bigger and probably much stronger - that would just turn these puppies on! ;-)

Haha, that is giggle worthy, once I got over the shock and disappointment for your hard work. But it looks like it is all better now, and a great story!
