Ceremony music with a twist

I am beginning to realize that most of the posts this week are going to be devoted to all those little surprises from the wedding. I first had the bouquet toss fight (which was somewhat thought of in advance) and today I have something I am overjoyed to share.

As some of you may remember, I decided that rather than scouring over music and picking what my very talented organist should play I'd just let him choose. After all he's been doing weddings since he could reach the pedals, he'd know exactly what would be different and fit us.

But instead of him picking a unique song not played often he did something completely unexpected, he combined a few surprising songs.

I was so shocked at the rehearsal I realized that I had to have them filmed. So the day of was quickly followed by me begging a camera off my dad and then subsequently finding someone to hold it.

And rather than telling you all about it, I thought I'd let you hear and see. Also I'm not gonna say exactly what he played but you can all take your guesses in the comments.

Here's the "Here comes the Bride" ala my organist:

He'd been threatening to have me walk down the aisle so much that I wasn't expecting it, so as you can see about the time I figured it out I broke out into laughter.

In fact, it was too perfect for me as I was too busy listening to the music to realize that all the people in the church were looking at just me. Instead of looking scared and serious I was giggling down the aisle and I wouldn't have it any other way.

He also picked something just right for the Unity candle. Once I realized what it was, I started to well up a bit:

So Mr. Church organist, if you happen to be reading this for some reason (like your new wife is making you) thank you so much for making the wedding. The music was perfect for us and our twisted wedding.

I really can't praise enough how easy and fun it was to trust a professional who knew me to make a decision for the wedding. Delegation can be lots of fun.

Aw! We got to see your wed-ding!

The first one was funny :)

The second one was touching. I recognised it but couldn't work out what it was.

That's great that the organist did such a good job at picking songs!

I don't have speakers or headphones, so I'll have to wait to watch the videos, but I'm sure that they're good! :)
