Picture a Day - Day 68

I am ashamed to say that I too have partaken of a post wedding cliche.

No, we didn't run out and get a baby at one of the baby sales (apparently Toys R Us is really trying to move their merchandise, they have a buy on get one half off deal).

No, we still have our craptacular apartment that if it doesn't sink into the ground will soon have all the electrical wiring go wrong.

What was it again? Something to do with scissors.

Oh that's right I went and had a bunch of my hair whacked off.

Now before I get to the pictures I was thinking I'd tell you all the tale of how my hair used to be worn (stop groaning in the back, that's right Johnson I'm looking at you). From the time I was knee high to a grasshopper until about oh my junior year in college I always wore my hair long.

It was at least past my bra strap, sometimes more. Then I just decided to hell with it, let's chop it off so it falls at my shoulders. A few months after that I met my future husband (say Hi, honey) and I did maintain my mid-length hair for a while but then I entered grad school and I got lazy.

So I suppose one could say that I've been growing my hair for the wedding for about oh 2-3 years or so. Basically what I'm trying to say is that while my husband is more used to mid-length hair my personal default is to be as lazy as possible and let it grow.

Okay okay without further ado here's the before:
And here's the after (with 7-8 inches missing):

I probably shouldn't go too much more into detail about my hair for fear that you shall all rise up and kill me (like how I only need a comb and some water and I can straighten it or that with my natural wave it curls just right at the ends without me owning a curling iron).

Has anyone else taken the post wedding plunge and tried something different or new with your hair? I know Rachel is currently debating it herself and her wedding was long after mine (if that tells you just how slow I am about these things).

Did anyone else have long hair when they were little? So long in fact someone pulling on your hair doesn't faze you because all the nerves are dead and one time you got it all caught up in the chains on a swing?

I like you in shorter hair better - it shows off your big smile more! :) Nice look!

Nice new hair!

I've always had pretty sort hair. I think the longest I've ever had it was a few inches below my shoulders when I got married. Then I chopped it off to my more normal between ear lobe and chin length hair.

Loves lovely!
I always had long hair as a kid.
Now that I chopped mine off I want to grow it back out! I'm so silly!

I really like the new look, it's smart and clean. I still haven't posted about my post-wedding chop actually.

Ahhhh!!!!!!!!
I love it!!!

Linda is right - I do need to get a good pic of my new hair up. I have a "before" pic, but I need a good "after".

You know, all the engaged men of the world should fully understand that the long pretty hair that they love and we put up with before the wedding is just going to disappear afterwards!!! ;-)

Love it! I'm trying to resist the pre-wedding chop, because I'm getting so tired of this long hair!
