Picture a Day - Day 71

As you may have noticed from some of my random feet pictures I like to keep my toenails painted (and have no qualms with showing off my feet apparently).

It isn't just because I like to look down and stare at pretty shiny colors, or I really enjoy the fumes from first acetone and then nail polish. No I have a much more sinister reason, a deep dark evil reason. My latest polish job comes from two different eXtreme colors from Sally Hanson (I'm not sure what makes them eXtreme exactly. They don't snowboard or jam energy drinks in my face. There is a definite lack of swearing coming from my toes. It's a mystery for the ages.) Emerald City and some silver one.

So what was it you wanted? Oh right my evil dark secret.

I have to keep my toenails polished otherwise I will all but cut my poor little toenails down to the quick. I have a very strange phobia that if I see any white on my toenails I have to trim it. I have no idea where it comes from, or why I feel like toe nails are evil but it seems that painting my nails keeps me from doing too much damage (ingrown toe nails are the worst) so they get to stay pretty colors.

Which is kinda funny as I am the exact opposite with my fingernails. I have rather shall we say hard fingernails. They are about impossible to cut without soaking my hands for a few minutes in warm water to soften them up.

I usually take the lazy approach with them then and let them grow.Only I can never paint them. As soon as I do people who know me and really should know better suddenly start asking "Are those real?"

"No they're fake. I decided to rip off my own natural long nails which you just saw a few hours ago and replace them with fakes."

So I get to practice my art of making shiny nails on my toes while my fingernails get left out in the cold.

How about you? Is anyone else bigger into painting metatarsals over metacarpals?

***Edited to add*** I just got the most hilarious Spam comment and I had to share it with you. Brought to you by someone who just did a simple blog search for "finger nails" and will never come back.

"The content you have provided is pretty interesting and useful and I will surely take note of the point you have made in the blog. (I think the guy who writes the instructions on how to put together your new vaccum visited me and left a comment.)

Today while I was surfing the Internet, I read about *Insert whatever they were shilling* being the latest trend now in the nail fashion industry. (Look out the nail fashion industry is taking over. Soon it will be more powerful than Big Brother!)

After reading about *shill*, I think it’s a great way to dress up your nails (So like leggings and wrap dresses for your hands?) giving them a trendy look. (Just what I don't need snotty nails that think they're extras from Gossip Girl).

I also came across this site *shill* where you can check out some really cool stuff for your nail decoration. (If you don't have little Christmas lights I can string all over my hand you shall have crushed this little bloggers dreams)

If you are a professional nail artist or run a nail salon, (You'd know the answer if you actually read this thing, I'm a professional mime. Oh crap, I wasn't supposed to talk.)

you can get a bulk order discount and use the best nail products for your customers. I have bought the professional luxury *shill* kit from here and this is great value for my money. (Such a great value I spend hours of my day commenting in every blog on the internet about it. IT'S JUST SUCH A GREAT DEAL!)

I thought this information might be useful for anyone looking for genuine nail decoration stuff and may not know where to buy them from. (Because everyone who reads this blog clearly doesn't know how to use the internet. What is this google?)

Normally I just delete these things but this was just too entertaining (especially the first line, that still cracks me up) I just had to show it off.

I am the opposite - I have to have my nails painted or I chew them off! LOL! Summer months my toe nails are always painted though!

Oh you're so lucky to get spam on your blog! :) I hardly ever do especially not to recent posts.
I hardly ever paint my own nails. I prefer pedicures cause I'm lazy and hate grooming my feet. My nails are like yours. People always ask me if they are fake.

The first thing my nerd self thought when I saw your toes was: "Oh! What lovely Slytherin nails!" Haha. Yes, I am that much of a geek.
