The Rime of the Ancient Zombie

Zombies, Zombies, every where,
And all the brains did shriek ;
Zombies, Zombies, every where,
And all of them a freak.

The very flesh did rot : O Christ !
That ever this should be !
Yea, slimy things did stumble about
Upon the slimy sea.

About, about, in reel and rout
The death-fires danced at night ;
The water, like a witch's oils,
Burnt green, and blue and white.

And some in dreams assuréd were
Of the undead that ate us so;
Six feet under he followed us
Along with his friend the crow.

And every face, through utter scare,
Was twisted and laid bare ;
At the zombie cursed with a bouffant
Of grave wax, shotgun shells and hair.

Ah ! well a-day ! what evil looks
Had zombie due to the shock!
I go to work to fix it all;
Zombie left with a styling faux hawk.

Cool poem, but I do have to admit, I am "zombied" out! My boys dragged me to Zombieland over the weekend, let's just say it was a learning experience. All the boys (including the husband) loved it. They even went home to download the shoot 'em up zombie game, ughhhhhhhhh!!!!
